Bramston Goldsmithing was founded by jewellery designer, goldsmith and gemmologist Shelley Bramston. Fascinated by gemstones and jewellery since childhood, Shelley formally began her jewellery career in 2000 after completing a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in Ancient Near Eastern Studies. Intrigued by the symbolism and enduring nature of jewellery in ancient cultures, she enrolled in the intensive Jewellery Arts program at George Brown College in Toronto, focused on traditional goldsmithing techniques. Upon graduating with Honours, she pursued the study of gemmology leading to Fellowship certification by both the Canadian and British Gemmological Associations.

Shelley mastered her fabrication and gemmological expertise in the wholesale sector, designing and overseeing production of private collections, custom designs and heirloom repair and restyling for some of Canada’s finest jewellery retailers. The experience of refurbishing and restyling heirloom jewellery gave Shelley a unique perspective and ignited a passion to design and craft true heirloom jewellery: jewellery handmade to last generations, thoughtfully designed with both comfort and durability in mind, with a timeless yet unique aesthetic, made with responsibly sourced materials and a combination of old-world craftsmanship and the best that modern technology has to offer.
